Three Mercedes-Benz models score top marks in EuroNCAP tests

Safety has always been at the forefront of the minds of Mercedes-Benz engineers when designing new vehicles and three model ranges have recently scored top marks in EuroNCAP tests.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class, C-Class and GLK-Class vehicles have successfully passed the stringent examinations to ensure that drivers, passengers and pedestrians have the best chance of avoiding injury if an accident should occur.

Professor Rodolfo Schoneburg, Head of Passive Safety at Mercedes-Benz Cars, said: "We are very pleased about this good result. It confirms the correctness of our real-life safety concept, even in standardised rating crash tests."

Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has also been put through more than 5,000 realistic crash test simulations and a further 150 high-speed crash assessments.

The E-Class also features a number of technological innovations that show the emphasis the manufacturer places on safety.

An advanced body shell design and Active Bonnet are present as aids should an accident occur, while Attention Assist and flashing adaptive brake lights promote safer driving and reduce the chances of an incident taking place.
